A used drone is hard to sell in the wrong place. Put it on a general classifieds site and it sits next to couches and lawnmowers. The buyer who wants a Mavic, an agricultural sprayer, or a set of FPV parts is not browsing there.
A drone-only listing puts the aircraft in front of people who already came to buy one. That is the whole point.
Where people actually look
- A drone marketplace. The buyer already knows the model.
- A local sale, if you want cash this week and do not want to ship a battery.
- A general auction site, if you will pay the fee and pack it properly.
- A trade-in, if you want it gone today and will take less.
For most people the useful move is a drone listing first, and a local ad only if you need a fast cash sale nearby.
What to put in the ad
Write the model, the hours or the flight count if you have it, and what is in the box. Props, batteries, charger, case, remote. Say if it has been crashed. A clean “no crashes, two batteries, original case” ad sells. A vague “great drone” ad does not.
Photos do the same job they do on an aircraft. One of the whole aircraft, one of the gimbal or the arms, one of the battery bay, one of the remote. Daylight. No filters.
Show the price. Hiding it brings tyre-kickers.
Broken is still a sale
A crashed airframe has a buyer. Arms, motors, a gimbal and batteries often sell for more than the wreck.
Say what is broken. Say what still works. Do not ship a damaged lithium battery unless you know the rule for that carrier.
Where to list it
List it on VTOL.X. Drones, UAV parts, and VTOL sit in the same place as helicopters and aircraft parts. A buyer looking for a used drone, a spray drone, or a motor does not have to leave the aviation listings to find it.
If you are pricing it, use the same test you would on an aircraft. Look at what the same model is actually listed for, then write a number. Guessing high and waiting does not work.
